Sergioramos:) Captures Title at Clash Royale World Finals

Mexico’s Sergioramos:) is officially the world’s best Clash Royale player. Yesterday at the first ever Crown Championship World Finals, which took place at London’s Copper Box Arena, Sergioramos:) defeated United States player MusicMaster to win the top spot to take home the Golden Crown, $150,000 and the title of first ever world champion. More than 27 million players from around the world entered the qualifying in-game challenge, marking a significant achievement for competitive mobile gaming.

Sergioramos:) was ecstatic with his achievement, and acknowledged the numerous other players that helped make this event so groundbreaking. “When I first started playing Clash Royale, I was just doing it for fun, and I never could have imagined making it to this level,” he said. “There were so many other amazing competitors at the World Finals, and it was an honor to have played with them this weekend.”

The World Finals brought together the top 16 players from around the world, representing 8 different regions.  They were Coltonw83, MusicMaster and CMcHugh from the United States, loupanji (France) and Berin (Germany) from Europe, Adrian Piedra (Mexico) and Sergioramos:) (Mexico) from Latin America, Geltube and X-Bow Master from Korea, Fuchi and Amaterasu from Japan, Winds and quiet from China, Tali (Vietnam) and YaoYao (Taiwan) from Southeast Asia, and ElecTr1fy from Israel, who represented the “Rest of the World” region.

Clash Royale is a real-time multiplayer mobile game from Supercell that features characters from the company’s hit mobile game, Clash of Clans, and introduces a number of new characters in the Royale family. In the game, players collect and upgrade dozens of cards featuring Clash of Clans troops, spells and defenses, as well as the Royales: Princes, Knights, Baby Dragons and more. Players must lead the Royale family to victory by knocking the enemy King and Princesses from their towers to defeat opponents and win Trophies, Crowns and glory in the Arena.
